An extensive two-month journey around Australia was terminated days after the death of an older woman who was abandoned by the vessel on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been hiking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but broke off from the group for a break. The vessel left without her and returned several hours later after the personnel realised the woman was not present.

A large-scale search operation discovered her person the subsequent day.
