The President Claims Erecting a Washington D.C. Victory Arch Is Policy Chief's Advisor's 'Primary Focus'.

Amid worries over a deepening affordability crisis, The President disclosed that his domestic policy chief is chiefly tasked with constructing a triumphal arch for Washington DC.

White House Event Announcement

During remarks at a presidential gathering, the president lauded Vince Haley, his ex-advisor who now chairs the White House Domestic Policy Council.

“Vince is unbelievable on policy,” Trump stated. “And we have a policy thing that’s going to be unbelievable happening.”

The specifics of that project might indeed be tough to believe for many people having difficulty to make ends meet.

Specifics of the 'Arch' Project

“I put Vince to oversee the triumphal arc,” Trump said, employing the European word for arch. “We are constructing an arch, like the Arc de Triomphe,” the president added, mixing two languages.

“We’re building it by the Memorial Bridge, the national cemetery, opposite the Lincoln Memorial. You could say, Jefferson, Washington, all of them, ‘cause they’re all in that area,” Trump went on, mentioning well-known monuments in the nation’s capital.

“It is something that is incredibly significant. It will be like the one in Paris,” Trump remarked.

Trump further claimed that the proposed structure is expected to be significantly grander than the historic version ordered up by Napoleon. “It blows it away. Surpasses it in all respects.”

Advisor's Reported Reaction

As per the president, his domestic policy chief was awestruck by a model of the proposed arch the first time he saw it.

“He entered one day and his eyes were teeming,” the president recounted. “I mean, he couldn’t believe how stunning it was. He saw it, and he desired to do that,” Trump said.

Addressing Haley directly, the president stated, “That is your number one task. Nothing that can rival that.”

Context of Economic Concerns

This focus comes as a significant number of people are reportedly struggling with increased costs as a result of various policy decisions, including import taxes on imported goods.

Additionally, with health insurance premiums for over 20 million Americans poised to increase significantly, many may take issue with the notion that building a monumental arch should be the top agenda item of the nation's top policy official.
